Great Oak’s Zack Knoll pitched into the seventh inning striking out nine, scattering six hits and gave up two runs as he picked up his third victory of the season. The 8-2 win evened the Wolfpack’s league record at 5-5 and was ignited off the bats of Mitch Hayes and Trey Endris.
The Golden Bears led 2-1 when Great Oak lit up Temecula Valley pitcher Isaiah Moten for four runs in the fifth to take the lead. The Wolfack scored two more in the sixth and another in the seventh to win it 8-2. Hayes went 2-for4 with a home run, scored twice and drove in three. Endris also had two hits, scored and three RBIs.
Davis Maldonado and Connor Trippet singled and scored while Ford Lane and Jarrod Iwasaki drove in the Golden Bears runs. Isaiah Moten struck out seven in the losing effort.
Murrieta Valley 3

Johnny Morrell pitched a complete game victory over Chaparral Friday, striking out nine Pumas while giving up just one run on five hits. The win kept the Nighthawks in a first place tie with Vista Murrieta. Morrell gave up the only Puma run in third and trailed until Murrieta Valley tied the game with a run in the fifth.
The Nighthawks pulled ahead with a run in the sixth and added an insurance run in the seventh. Morell didn’t need it as he put down the Pumas in the final frame to win the game 3-1.
Max Maitland was 2-for-3 and scored for the Nighthawks. Joey Fregosi, Brendan Morace and Aaron Shackelford drove in the Murrieta Valley runs.
