Chaparral Beats Murrieta Mesa 34-20

Second Half Rally Lifts the Pumas over the Rams 

Chaparral waited till the second half once again before getting started and rallied behind their big offensive line to beat Murrieta Mesa 34-20 in the last game of the season for both teams. The Pumas scored first but the Rams came back strong in the first half as Murrieta Mesa outscored Chaparral 17-14.
The Pumas were led by running back William “Ray” Riley who was unstoppable in the second half behind his big line. Riley ended up with two rushing touchdowns. The Pumas outscored the Rams 24-3 in the second half as the the Pumas swarming defense shut down the potent Murrieta Mesa Offense.
The only points that the Rams out on the board in the second half came on Mateo Thompson’s second field goal of the game.

The Pumas dedicated the game and victory to teammate Bryson Bridges. Bridges, a transfer from Murrieta Mesa was deemed ineligible to play by the CIF Southern Section and missed his entire senior year. It was an emotional victory for Bridges and his Puma teammates.
