Vista Murrieta, Murrieta Valley Eliminated from Division 1AA Playoffs
Chaparral defeated Northwood in the first round of the CIF SS Division 1AA Volleyball Playoffs. The Pumas were apprehensive and started slow losing the first set 19-25. The nervousness ebbed and the Pumas focused to take the next three sets 25-17, 25-21, 25-19 to clinch the victory and move on to round two.
The Chaparral attack was orchestrated by Becca Branch who had 25 assists against the Timberwolves. Julia Cubbedge led the Pumas with 15 kills and Megan Shugrou came up with 16 digs.
The Pumas will travel to Manhattan Beach to play Mira Costa in round two of the playoffs Thursday night. The Mustangs defeated Notre dame in a nail biter 25-11, 222-25, 25-23, 15-25, 15-12 in round one of the CIF SS Division 1AA playoffs last night.
Vista Murrieta and Murrieta Valley were eliminated from the playoff tournament in round one. The Broncos fell to Santa Margarita in straight sets and the Nighthawks lost to Lakewood in four.
