The Wildcats Just Too Much For the Lancers
It was Homecoming Night in front of a packed stadium and the Wildcats did not disappoint, Paloma Valley dominated Lakeside on both sides of the ball as the Wildcats defeated the Lancers 35-0 in their league opener Friday evening.
The Wildcat’s swarming defense was led by Joey Dunn, Ruben Colon and Jose Cruz. Paloma Valley completely shut down the Lancer offense all night long. Lakeside had trouble moving the chains and could not move the ball on the ground at all. The Lancers ended the game with negative 73 yards rushing and would only gain 64 yards in the game. Colon had two interceptions for the Wildcats.
Paloma Valley quarterback Pohaku Kaheaku-Paiva threw for one touchdown to wide out Jacob Diaz and ran for another. Running back Demarco Prewitt provided most of the Wildcat offense as he scored three touchdowns on 11 carries for 119 yards.
The Wildcats are now 4-2 and will travel to Elsinore to face the Tigers on Friday evening. The Tigers are also 4-2 and are coming off a tough 2-21 loss to defending league Champion Heritages. The Lancers are headed home to take on Temescal Canyon. The Titans have won their last two games and are 2-4 after defeating Perris 30-14 over the weekend
