Top Seeded Redondo Union Just Too Much for the Wolfpack
The Great Oak Girls Volleyball team’s season ended in Redondo Tuesday night as the Wolfpack was eliminated from the CIF SS Division 1AA playoffs. It was the second straight year that Great Oak has reached the semifinal round and established the Wolfpack as one of the best girl’s volleyball programs in Southern California.
Great Oak fell to top seeded Redondo Union 25-19, 12-25, 25-23, 25-15 at Redondo. The Seahawks are ranked fourth in the Nation and are expected to beat Mater Dei in the finals. The Wolfpack kept it close but were taken out of the match by unforced errors and the pressure the Seahawks exerted in the final match.
Congratulations for an outstanding season to seniors Rachel Daily, Morgan Kissick, Emily Bento, Olyvia Chaltas, and Brea Fregeau. The Wolfpack is still loaded with talent and Coach Mark Motluck will have the bulk of his starters back for revenge in 2015.
Keep your eyes on Great Oak Girls Volleyball, they are tough and getting better every year.
