Golden Bears starter Jarrod Iwasaki survived a shaky four run fourth inning and went on to beat Valencia 6-4 in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 Wildcard game Tuesday.
“I was having trouble hitting my spots and got into a little trouble” said Iwasaki. “The team played excellent defense behind me and helped me out of a few jams. The insurance run that Maldonado scored in the fifth was a huge boost”.
