CIF SS Division 1 Softball Playoffs: Great Oak's Season Ends in Norco


The Wolfpack Gives Up Two Runs in the Final Inning in a Tough, Controversial 3-2 Loss

Laura Curry tripled home shortstop Serena Quinata in the top of the seventh inning to give the Wolfpack a one run lead in Tuesday’s CIF SS Round 2 Playoffs. Curry was cut down later in the inning trying to score on a very close and controversial call at the plate. That play proved to be crucial. Great Oak led 2-1 as the Cougars came to bat in the bottom of the seventh.

Great Oak’s Autumn Storms had pitched a one run gem through six before getting in trouble in the final inning. Toni Camarillo scored on a single up the middle by Abby Lockman to tie the game.

With two outs and the game tied at 2 apiece, Mikayla Allee  blooped a single off the glove of Wolfpack second baseman Samara Arriaga.  Lockman scored the winning run and Norco advances to the quarterfinals.

Lockman scored the first Cougar run in the third inning on a home run down the left field line. Many a Wolfpack fan will swear that it was a foul ball. It’s in the books now. Lockman was perfect against Storms going 4-for-4 with two RBIs.

Great Oak’s Serena Quinata was 3-for-3 for the Wolfpack while Kayla Green and Laura Curry both had two hits against Norco. Autumn Storms singled home Savannah Hewitt in the sixth.
The Wolfpack softball team’s incredible season has come to an end for the 2015 season. Great season Ladies.
