The New Nighthawk Head Coach is Looking Forward to the Challenges of Building the Wrestling Program

Murrieta Valley Athletic Director Darrin Mott announced that Daniel Kingman would be the Nighthawk’s new Wrestling Coach this season. “I feel very confident that Coach Kingman will definitely point the Nighthawk Wrestling program in the right direction” said Mott. “He is a proven winner as an athlete and as a coach and understands what is required to build a foundation for a successful long term program. We are fortunae to have him here".

Kingman has served as the Assistant Wrestling Coach for Modena High School off and on from 1997 till last season. He helped guide the Vanguards to four Century League Titles and also the CIF SS Division Championship in 2014. Kingman was also the Varsity Assistant Coach at Servite High School in 2005and 2006.

As a high school athlete at El Modena, Kingman was a two time Cenury League Wrestling champion. In 1996  he placed 3rd in CIF, 5th in the Masters and was All State. He was also a football standout and was a first team all league defensive tackle and honorable mention all county full back. He is currently helping coach the Nighthawk football team.

“I am looking forward to building a solid foundation for Murrieta Valley Wrestling this year. It is essential that we create an atmosphere that is going to attract more kids into the program for the future” said Kingman. “We need to build an attractive program that the students want to be part of. It takes a village to build something great, and with the help of the booster program and the community I know we can get there”.

The New Nighthawk coach is looking forward to competing in the Southwestern league. “There’s tons of great completion down here and I hope to build a team that can match up with Temecula Valley, Vista Murrieta and the Chaparral soon. I know Murrieta Valley has a proud and rich athletic tradition and now wrestling will be part of it”.
