Girls Basketball: Triple Threat Wins the Swift Spring Classic

The Travel Club from Temecula Heads to the West Coast Classic This Weekend

11124767_10205219337354839_1925356124_n11157994_10205219336914828_2142740489_nLed by Ashley Waltz’s four 3-pointers down the stretch in the semifinal game of the Swift Spring Classic, Triple Threat defeated Coastal Elite 40-35. The victory  advanced the girls to the Championship game against R.I.E.N.G Grey. Triple Threat took the crown with an impressive 50-40 victory.

The Girls from Temecula had cruised to easy wins of 50-27 over the Norco Outlaws and 49-27 against Swift Red in the opening rounds on Saturday. The team is a Travel Club serving the Temecula Valley with girls from Great Oak, Temecula Valley, Murrieta Valley and Vista Murrieta involved. They will be playing at the West Coast Classic this weekend.

11132086_10205219335474792_849623245_nTriple Threat is a program for girls who seek to improve and elevate their basketball skills. “We hope that through this program, the girls become not only comfortable on the floor, but confident” said head coach Cailee Cox. “My team is full of talented young girls with a love for basketball. It's amazing to watch them out there giving their all. Their passion for the game is evident and I look forward to seeing them grow as individuals and as a team”.

Triple Threat demands that every player maintain a 3.0 grade point average to stay in the program. The organization has been around since 2007 and has helped many girls in high, middle and elementary school to achieve their goals over the years.

This years roster is made up of Delaney Nuez, Alanna Martinez, Nayana Jenkins and Brooke Padgett from Great Oak, Imari Cooley from Vista Murrieta, Emily Cassidy of Murrieta Valley, Theresa Davis from Temecula Valley.

Also on the team are Ashley Waltz, Victoria Farris, Savannah Potter, Sydney Moran and Anastasia Navarro from Vail Ranch Middle School.
