Vista Murrieta junior Connor Cannon hit a home run, two singles and knocked in four runs to lead the Broncos past Temecula Valley 10-2 in the opening game of the Southwestern baseball league. Vista Murrieta scored in every inning but the fourth as they easily beat last seasons CIF SS Division II Champions.

Junior Jack Moberg picked up his first victory of the season as he scattered four hits, giving up both Bear runs over three innings. His younger brother Jake was 3-for-4, scored twice and drove in a run. Sophomore Mitchell Morales went 3-for-5 and scored three times against the Golden Bears. The Broncos had 14 hits in the game.

The Broncos used three relievers, Connor Cannon, Jake Moberg and Chance Hroch who combined to pitch a no hit shutout over four innings to shut down Temecula Valley. Only two Golden Bears reached base against the Bronco Trio.

Seniors David Maldonado and Bryce Apodaca scored the Golden Bears runs. Eric Jalomo had an RBI. Senior Isaiah Moten pitched four innings and was saddled with the loss. Jacob Boney, Ryan Rivas and Ryan Clark all appeared in relief tor Temecula Valley.
The Broncos improve to 6-2 overall with their first Southwestern League victory. They will be home to face Chaparral Friday afternoon. The Golden Bears will travel to Murrieta Valley to take on the unbeaten Nighthawks. Both games begin at 3:30pm.
