Murrieta Valley’s Amber Bishop went 4-for-4 at the plate, blasting two home runs, scored four times and drove in six more as she led the Nighthawks over the Wolfpack in a crucial Southwestern League game Wednesday.
With the victory, Murrieta Valley is just one game away from clinching the title and repeating as Southwestern League Champions.

The Nighthawks took advantage of several Great Oak fielding miscues in the first inning and started the game with a four run rally.
They padded to the lead in the next inning when Bishop hit her first home run of the game with her sister Autumn aboard. Murrieta Valley scored five more in the third to put the game out of reach. Bishop launched her final homer over the right field wall in the top of the fifth to make it 13-0
.
Playing for pride, the Wolfpack came roaring back in the bottom of the fifth. Dyllin Stancil unloaded on Olivia Sanchez’s full count pitch and sent it over the left field wall. h Madison Neff and Serna Quinata were aboard to make it 13-3. Stancil’s home run ruined Sanchez’s bid for a shutout but she did earned her 17th victory of the season. Autunm Storms was the loser for Great Oak.
Amber Nelson had three hits and an RBI for the Nighthawks. Morgan Burns went 2-for-4, scored and drove in two while Autumn Bishop scored three times on two hits and drove in another.
The Wolfpack is now 8-1 and trail the Nighthawks who are 9-0 by a game for the league Championship. Great Oak will travel to Murrieta Valley to try and even the score with the Nighthawks and take a share of the League Title. Game time is 3:30pm weather permitting.
