HS Softball: Murrieta Valley Climbs to Number 4 in the CIF SS Division 1 Polls; Great Oak Leaps to the Seventh Spot
Published on: May 13, 2015 @ 08:42

Murrieta Valley moved one step higher in this week’s CIF Southern Section Polls to number four in the Division 1 Rankings. The Wolfpack finally got a little respect from the CIF as Great Oak leapt into the top ten rankings for the first time in the 2015 season. Both teams have not lost a league game.
However, there is something more important on everyone’s mind this week.

The Nighthawks and Wolfpack are deadlocked for the Southwestern League Title with identical records of 8-0. The two unbeaten teams will face off for two games this week to determine who will be crowned champions. The first game is scheduled for today at Great Oak.
The Nighthawks are the Southwestern League’s defending Champions and they are intent on maintaining the status quo. Murrieta Valley is led by power hitters Autumn and Amber Bishop, Amber Nelson and freshman McKenna Tjaden. Pitcher Olivia Sanchez is the league’s ERA and Wins leader and the Nighthawk defense is solid.

The Wolfpack is also loaded with a powerful offense and stingy defense. Kayla Greens, Serena Quinata, Dylinn Stancil, Madison Neff and Emily Burrow can get the job done at the plate. Autumn Storms is the Great Oak Ace and can rely on reliever Elizabeth Engler if she gets into trouble.
The Wolfpack also is blessed with a deep and talented bench.
The game today begins at 3:30pm.
