Nighthawk freshman Autumn Pease scattered four hits over six innings to defeat Temecula Valley 14-3 Thursday afternoon. It was the freshman’s seventh victory of the season and kept the Nighthawks locked in a tie for first place with Great Oak. Both teams are undefeated and will meet next week for the two final games of the regular season.
With the score tied at one apiece the Nighthawks jumped ahead scoring three runs in the third to take a 4-1 lead. Undaunted, the Golden Bears came right back in the fourth with two rums of their own to close the gap to 4-3.

Murrieta Valley broke it all open in the sixth scoring six runs on an RBI single by Autumn Bishop, a two-run double by Makena Smith and a two-run single by Olivia Sanchez. Kiylee Chenault added another RBI single in the inning for the Nighthawks.
Murrieta scored four more in the sixth to put the game away 14-3.
The Nighthawks were led by Amber Nelson who was perfect at the plate, going 3-for3, scoring three times and drove in two. Amber Bishop also had three hits and McKenna Tjaden doubled and singled twice. Katie Hinkle and Chenault bot ended up with two hits against the Golden Bears.
Samantha Guerra singled, scored and drove in a run for Temecula Valley. Payton Brinneman drove in a run while Erica Menchaca and Skye Webb scored for the Golden Bears. Megan Weidman was the losing pitcher.
