Murrieta Valley got a game closer to repeating as Southwestern League Champions Tuesday with an impressive victory over the Golden Bears.
Nighthawk pitcher Olivia Sanchez threw a one hitter but gave up four runs, one the first and three more in the second before her defense settled down. Sanchez shut out Temecula Valley the rest of the way to win 13-4 and picked up her 15th victory of the season.

The Nighthawks offence was led once again by Amber Nelson, Autumn and Amber Bishop and Sanchez. Nelson went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and four RBIs. Sanchez was 2–for-4, scored and drove in three.

Autumn Bishop homered and drove in three and her twin sister Amber went 2-for-4 scoring twice and had two RBIs. Freshmen McKena Smith drove in one, scored and McKenna Tjaden had two hits for the Nighthawks.

Temecula’s Emily Tidd had a hit, scored and had three RBIs. Karissa Arnold drove in the other Golden Bears Run. Skye Webb scored twice for Temecula Valley and Ashby Rivas once. Megan Weidman pitched three innings giving up eight runs on seven hits and picked up the loss. Kayla Faustina and Haylie Mertzel also pitched for the Golden Bears.
The two teams will face off again tomorrow.
