Coach Coley Candaele’s Broncos reached deep down and overcame adversity Saturday afternoon as Vista Murrieta brought home the 2015 California State Boys Track and Field Championship. The Bronco Boys outscored second place finishers St. John Bosco and West Hills Chaminade 37-28 to win the Crown.Carson finished fourth and Oceanside was fifth.
Great Oak took 37th place with Temescal Canyon and Perris finishing tied for 43ed.

Vista Murrieta was led by Michael Norman who won the 200 and the tied the National record in the 400 with a time of 45.19. He also anchored the 1,600 relay for the Broncos, finishing third. Cole Dubots, battling a hamstring injury, finished sixth in the 100 meter dash. CJ Alumbres placed fifth in the Triple jump and Antonio Mitchell also took fifth in the 200.
Great Oak’s Isaac Cortes finished second in the 800 and Cole Spencer was 12th in the 3200 meters. . Cobie Chavez from Temescal Canyon finished fourth in the 800.
Destiny Collins was the driving force for the Wolpack Girls. She won the 3,200 meter race and took third in the 1,600.as Great Oak finished in third place behind Village Oaks Christian and San Jose Valley Christian. Vista Murrieta came in 17th with 12 points.

The Wolfpack have two fifth place finishers at the state finals. They were Sydney Belus in the 1600 meters and Ciynamon Stevenson in the Triple jump.
Vista Murrieta’s Lovie Burleson took fourth place in the Triple jump and fifth in the Long jump. Amanda Van Buren finished sixth in the 100 meters.
