The Southwestern League shined in the 2015 CIF Southern Section Track & Field Championships again this weekend. It eas sweet revenge for Vista Murrieta as they recaptured the Division 1 Crown that they lost to Great Oak last year.

The Broncos dominated the meet as they scored 94 points, almost doubling second place Great Oak’s total of 50. Los Osos was third with 49 points and Loyola finished in fourth with 39. It was Vista Murrieta coach Coley Candaele’s fifth CIF SS Division 1 Championship.
The Wolfpack Girls placed second behind Long Beach Poly 61-56. Eleanor Roosevelt was third, Upland fourth and Vista Murrieta finished in a three way tie for fifth place with 34 points.
Great Oak’s Destiny Collins won the 1600 and 3200 meter races. . Sydney Belus was second in the 1600 and Ciynamon Stevenson placed third in the triple jump.
Vista Murrieta’s Lovie Burleson won the Girls Long Jump and was second in the triple jump. Amanda Van Buren finished second twice, once in the 100 and then again in the 200 meter dash.
The Broncos Michael Norman took first in both the 200 and 400 meters. In the 100 meter dash Cole Dubots finished first and teammate Antonio Michel was second. CJ Alumbres won the triple jump and Jordan Testerman placed second in the long jump. The Broncos also won the Boys 4x400 meter relay.
Great Oak’s Isaac Cortes won the Boys 800 meter run and then broke the Division 1 meet record in the 1600. Ryan Polakiewicz was the pole Vault champion.
The Murrieta Mesa Rams took third place in the Southern Section’s Division 2 Boys Championships, missing second place by just one point.
