Local Teams Well Represented in this Week’s Southern Section Polls

NORTHWEST DIVISION

IMG_3026Linfield Christian was ranked number 1 in the Northwest Division in this week in the CIF SS polls. The Lions are undefeated with a perfect 4-0 record. Led by quarterback Clay Maranville, running back Zach Archer and all purpose back Lorenzo Burns, the Lions can strike quickly and often. Linfield defeated Temescal Canyon 37-21 last week.

 INLAND DIVISION

HeritagevsGreatOakFootball

Heritage stayed on top of the Inland Division Polls again this week. The Patriots continue their quest to the 2015 CIF SS Inland Division title. Heritage smashed West Valley 56-6 last week as quarterback Brett Virgil, running backs Jalen Glover, Javier Luna and wide out Aliva Hifo put on an wild offensive show. The Patriot defense seems to get tougher every game and Heritage is looking for their first shutout.

Paloma Valley rose a spot despite losing in a tough 14-7 loss to Tustin last week. The Wildcats  are 3-3 and still a powerhouse in the Sunbelt. Quarterback Chance Nolan will need to hook up with WR Cameron Whatley and running back Demarco Prewitt and get the Wildcats back on track.

WEST VALLEY DIVISION

Vista Murrieta’s third straight victory of the season was a convincing 43-7 thrashing of Lakewood. The Broncos are led by quarterback Kade Kade Greeley, running back Cole Dubots and wide receiver Kyle Williams. The defense is punishing, disciplined and tough to move the ball on.

The biggest “Cinderella” story of the West Valley Division is the rise of Murrieta Valley. The Nighthawks have gone from ‘forgotten’ to contenders under Coach George Wlson. Murrieta is led by freshman quarterback Hank Bachmeier, running back Quincy Wimbish and receivers Maurice Bell and Marquis Spiker. The defense is solid and led by Julio Robles, Jaylen Moore and Mazen Khalil.

The Warriors are storming through their pre-league schedule racking up an undefeated 4-0 record.
