Temecula Valley home against Elsinore
The Golden Bears will open the 2015 Football season at home against Elsinore this Friday night. The Tigers were crushed in their opening game 63-35 last week by the Corona Panthers. The Tigers have always been one of the top teams in the Sunbelt League.
Temecula Valley was the Southwestern League’s most improved team last season under new Head Coach Rick Mey. The Golden Bears were 6-5 overall and 2-3 in league. Their 38-10 victory over Murrieta Valley gave the Golden Bears their first CIF SS playoff berth since 2005.
Heritage at Los Osos
The Patriots started their season with a 35-13 spanking of Great Oak last week. Heritage was dominant on both sides of the ball and led 28-7 at the half. The Patriots ran for 356 yards against one of the top ranked defenses in the Southwestern league and moved the chains at will.
Los Osos just could not get their offense moving last week against Cater. The Grizzles were held to a single field goal in the first quarter and lost 30-3.
Paloma Valley at Vista
The Wildcats crushed JW North as they cruised to a 39-0 victory in their home opener last week. Paloma Valley is ranked 10th in the tough CIF SS Inland Division and is tough on both sides of the pigskin.
Vista lost a tough defensive battle to Bonita Vista last week falling to the Barons 12-0 opening week. The Panthers finished the 2014 season with a record of 6-6.
Perris at Notre Dame
The Panthers scored 56 points as they beat Shadow Hills in their season opener. Perris crushed Notre Dame 33-12 last season and finished 2015 with a 6-4 record.
Notre Dame destroyed Xavier Prep 42-7 in their opening night game. The Titans finished last season with a record of 6-5.
Temescal Canyon at San Jacinto
The Titans lost to Murrieta 34-13in their home opener last week. Temescal Canyon is looking to rebound this Friday when they travel to San Jacinto. The Tigers are 1-0 after edging past Palm Desert 37-27 in their home opener.
Lakeside at Colton
The Lancers began the 2015 season with a 35-6 loss to Chaffey High. Lakeside will travel to Colton to take on the Yellowjackets. This will be Colton’s first game of the season. The Yellowjackes were 4-7 last year finishing third in the Sunkist league with a 3-2 record.
