The Nighthawks won their third straight victory to open the 2015 football season last night as they crushed Elsinore 55-7. It was proof positive that the changes that Head Coach George Wilson implemented n the program over the summer are working.
“We have some good young players,” Murrieta Valley coach George Wilson said. “I don’t want to get ahead of ourselves. But we had a good game last week and we took care of business tonight. Things seem to be going good.”

Senior running back Quincy Wimbish led the charge against the Tigers, scoring four touchdowns on 14 caries and gaining 130 yards. All in the first half. Running looked easier for Wimbish as Elsinore was busy trying to contain the Nighthawk passing attack.
Freshman Hank Bachmeier shredded the Tigers secondary completing 15 of his 19 passes for three touchdowns and 259 yards. He hit sophomore Marquis Spiker twice, one for 33 yards and another for 32. He also nailed Maurice Bell with a 29 yard strike.
Murrieta Valley scored 28 popints in the first quarter as they domninated on both sides of the ball. The scored another 20 in the second to take a 48-7 lead into the locker rooms at the half and never looked back.
Junior Frankie Serrano took over for Wimbish in the second half and rushed for 86 yards and a the final Nighthawk touchdown.
Elsinore’s Anthony Reyes was the entire Tiger attack as he ran for 90 yards. The junior running back scored the Tigers only touchdown in the first quarter with a 61-yard run down the visitor’s sideline. He also had an acrobatic 71 yard touchdown pass called back on a penalty.
Middle linebacker Mazin Khalil, nose guard Julio Robles and Jalen Moore led the Nighthawk defense as the completely shut down the Tiger attack. “We played a very good aggressive game” said defensive line coach Jaimie Zarate. “The team is fired up as we have dedicated the season to Diego".

Murrieta Valley is now 3-0 and will be tested next week as perennial southland football powerhouse Rancho Cucamonga rolls into town. The Cougars are 2-1 and are coming off a big 35-10 over Don Lugo.
Elsinore is still looking for a win this season and fall to 0-3. The Tigers will be home to face Arlington next Friday. The Lios are 1-1 so far this season.
