HS Football: Previews of this Week’s Local Christian School Games

Game of the Week: Linfield Christian-Temescal Canyon

12003303_1903287149895620_8699116784395885721_nLindfield is coming into the contest with a perfect 3-0 record and the Lions intend to stay undefeated. The Lions are ranked second in the CIF SS Northwest Division and have scored 109 points and given up only 34 points in their three games. Led by quarterback Clay Maranville and running back Zach Archer and all purpose back Lorenzo Burns, the Lions can strike quickly and often. Linfield is home this week.

12006286_1903287119895623_1996850860716823399_nThe Titans are winless so far in 2015 and are looking to turn things around this week against Linfield Christian. Temescal Canyon is coming off its worse loss of the young season suffering a 40-8 beating at the hands of Palm Springs last Friday.

Cornerstone-Palm Valley
Cornerstone travels to Rancho Mirage to face Palm Valley this afternoon (Thursday). The Crusaders are 1-2 and shut out Concordia 46-0 last week.  The offense is led by freshman quarterback Ayden Sotello and  running back Wayne Simmons.

Palm Valley are 0-1 and were blown away by West Shores 50-6 last week.

Rancho Christian-Santa Fe Christian
11987116_497967877038718_4230831855648501506_nRancho Christian won their second straight game of the season against Excelsior Charter 30-7 last week to improve to 2-1. The Eagles are led by quarterback Carter Treadway and running backs Malosi Napoleon and Jesse Roman. The Eagles are home this week.

Santa Fe Christian is also 2-1 and coming off a huge 41-6 victory over Big Bear.

12003219_1650591768529987_7657296238063905192_nThe Warriors are 3-0 and have rolled over all their opponents this so far this season. The Calvary Murrieta offense has racked up 148 points in three games and has only given up 40. Quarterback Adam Schwab and running back Micah Roth lead the Warrior offense.

Rancho Prep is 1-1 and crushed Gabrielino 49-6 last week.

Temecula Prep-Army Navy
Temecula Prep suited up two Friday nights ago for their first-ever 11 Man varsity football game. The Patriots scored 26 points in their inaugural game against Lutheran but it wasn’t enough. Temecula Prep lost 44-26.

The Warriors are 1-1 this year. They hammered Mountain Empire 33-17 in their home opener but fell to Vincent Memorial 22-3 last week.
