“This is the Grand Daddy of all the rivals in the area” said Golden Bears ex-Coach Bud Kane. “We used to be the only 2 schools in the Valley”.

The Tigers had dominated the last four games and each school had won 10 games apiece as they faced off for the 21st time. It would be the Golden Bears who took the Game Trophy home last night.

The Bears defense came through and forced an early turnover from the Elsinore to get the ball back deep in their own territory.

Led by the strong running of Olita Palmer, the Bears opened up an early 12 point lead off of two rushing touchdowns. Palmer scored one from 36 yards and another from 10 yards.  The Golden Bears running back  would continue to pound the Elsinore defense with his punishing running style, which eventually opened up the passing game for the Bears.

The first was, a 21 yard laser and the other on an 11 yard corner route.  Palmer ended the night with a resounding 246 yards on 20 carries.  Simon had 117 yards receiving and 2 TDs.

The Bears defense rallied late in the 2nd half and held the Tigers to only 15 points.

Temecula Valley is a young team but is surprisingly talented and physical.  With their balanced offensive attack and aggressive, physical defense they are looking to make a statement this season in the Southwestern League.
