Kyle Williams Leads the Bronco Stampede with 3 First Quarter TDs

1Last season senior Kyle Williams led Vista Murrieta to the CIF SS West Valley Championship game as a quarterback. Judging by the way he played against Ballard on Friday, this season he may lead his team back to the final game as a wide receiver. Williams had four catches for 261 yards and three first quarter touchdowns.

“Kyle is by far the best wide receiver that we have ever had at had Vista Murrieta” said Vista Murrieta Head Coach Coley Candaele. “His route running, his effort, his ability to catch the ball and his ability to make the big plays, he is just a phenomenal kid, player and athlete”.

Williams helped the Broncos set a new school record as Vista Murrieta scored 65 points in the first half. The home team scored 52 points in the first quarter alone before Candaele slowed the onslaught. Late in the second quarter Khalil Shakir fielded Ballard’s kickoff and took the pigskin 98 yards into the end zone. This was the touchdown that broke the previous Broncos scoring record.

3Ballard managed to put 12 on the board in the first quarter and scored another touchdown in the third as they went into the locker room trailing 65-19 at the half. The game ended in a rout as the Broncos won 71-32

7The Broncos were dominant in their opening game of the 2015 season and may have the talent to capture the CIF SS West Valley title.

“This is a very talented team this season” said Coach Candaele. “These guys have been to the CIF championship game. They’ve been there and know what is expected to get there again. We have the capability of doing great things again this year”.

Junior Karson Greeley started at quarterback for Vista Murrieta. He completed 4 of his 7-passes for-218 yards. Williams took over for a brief stint a quarterback and completed four passes for 50 yards and a touchdown.

Vista Murrieta will be home to face Santiago next Friday. The Sharks are 0-2 after successive lop sided losses to Redlands and Santa Margarita.
Game time is 7pm.
