Moments later, King cornerback Chris Venable intercepted a Wolfpack pass to give King great field position.

Kleven took full advantage of the turnover and a few penalties and threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Terrance Thompson. The score was all locked up 14-14 as the fourth quarter began.

The touchdown was nullified by a holding penalty, one of 14 penalties that Great Oak was flagged for in the game.
As time expired Great Oak attempted a 48 yard field goal but the kick was just wide right and sent the game into overtime.

In the first overtime both teams managed to score on field goals and the score was 17-17 as they headed into double overtime. Great Oak ran a reverse on the first play in the period and fumbled the ball deep in their own territory and turned the ball over to King. The Wolves again took advantage of the Wolfpack miscue as Gonzales ran the ball 18 yards for the winning score on the 3rd play of double overtime to win 23-17.
