Old Town Temecula: The Hatch Chile Festival is Coming to Town this Weekend

Festivities Begins at 11am Saturday and Runs thru Sunday at 6pm


Over 10,000 pounds Chiles were picked in Hatch, New Mexico on Thursday and delivered to Temecula this morning.  Raquel Anthony and her team has already started roasting the unique, spicy, smoky flavored morsels right outside of City Hall in preparation for tomorrow’s big crowds.

The festival originated in Hatch Mexico to celebrate the Chile harvest. Raquel Anthony and her husband have worked with Temecula Events bring an extension of the New Mexico festival to Temecula. The Anthony’s are one of the Premiere Salsa makers in the area and have a retail establishment called Chile Headz.

The festivities will include live Ballet Folklorico dancers, Mariachi bands and local musicians on Saturday. On Sunday the Mr. & Mrs. Chile Pepper Contest takes place and there will be a special Children’s Zone will be open all weekend.

Food vendors, hot sauce merchants and specialty items will be sold in booths that will transform Town Square Park into a section of Hatch, New Mexico.
