HS Cross Country: Great Oak Girls Win the Prestigious Bob Firman Invitational, Boys Finish Second

The Wolfpack Cross Country Teams Had a Great Showing in Idaho over the Weekend

The Great Oak Girls and Boys Cross Country teams did incredibly well at the Bob Firman Invitational in Boise Idaho over the weekend. The Girls team was dominant in their victory over second place American Fork winning 43-77. Davis placed third with a score of 77.

The Wolfpack girls were led by junior Evelyn Mandel with a time of 18:13.6.   Senior Destiny Collins ran a 18:39.7, junior Sydney Belus finished with a time of 18:41.4. Sophomore Sandra Pflughoft ran a 18:51, junior Nicole Rice was at 18:51.3 and senior Skyler Bollinger timed out at 19:04.3 19.

The Wolfpack Boys put on a strong race but finished in second place by barely a 2-point margin. Great Oak was edged by Timpanogos 104 to 106 in the closely contested event and Davis placed third with 109 points.

Senior Spencer Dodds finished in third place overall with his time of 15:19.5 Seniors Cole Spencer ran a 15:49.4, Isaac Cortes 15:54.1 and Brandon Shields a 16:20.3  for Great Oak/ Sophomore Carlos Carvajal finished with a time of 16:24.9  and junior Solomon Fountain ran a16:42.0 for the Wolfpack Boys,
