Senior center Alex Fewell and freshman quarterback Hank Bachmeier are two reasons for Murrieta Valley’s success.

Fewell anchors the Nighthawks O Line that has been opening holes for running back Quincy Wimbish and providing protection for Bachmeier to find his receivers “Alex is a guy I look up to, I respect him so much” said Bachmeier. “Alex is the go to guy when you're having a bad day. He makes you feel better, instills confidence in an instant. He's a true leader”.

O Line Coach Andre Smith moved Fewell to center this season believing that the senior’s size and skill sets would best fit at center. The move has paid dividends for the Nighthawks as Fewell, Q Woodley, Dexter Cole, Tenoa Fedlar and Anthony Pardue have evolved into one of the best offensive lines in the league.

“Coach Smith has been the best motivator for this offensive line” said Fewell. “We have become a very solid group with 3 seniors that have worked together for a while now. Coach Smith has made a huge impact on us”.

With ample protection and a bevy of talented receivers, Bachmeier has become one of the most dangerous quarterbacks in the Division. The freshman has thrown for 1164 yards and 11 touchdowns and has only been picked four times. His favorite receivers are sophomore Marquis Spiker and junior Maurice Bell who have combined for 47 receptions and all 11 TDs
.
Both Fewell and Bachmeier’s goals include going on to play at the next level in college after graduation. The two Nighthawks’ short term goals are to keep winning and lead Murrieta Valley deep into the CIF SS playoffs. “My other goal for the season is to beat Vista Murrieta this year” said Fewell.
