HS Girls Tennis: Murrieta Valley, Temecula Valley and Murrieta Mesa Victorious in Southwestern League Action

Murrieta Valley Back on Track as the Nighthawks Defeat Great Oak 11-7

12141558_779180698859469_348416516603100892_nMurrieta Valley is getting over their stunning loss to the Golden Bears earlier in the week as they re-grouped and got back on track with a 11-7 victory over the Wolfpack. Temecula Valley broke a 7-year Nighthawk Southwestern league winning streak on Tuesday.

“This was a great match” said Nighthawk Coach Trent Warren. “Great Oak got solid performances from their doubles teams while Murrieta Valley swept in singles”.

The Nighthawks singles players were dominant as they swept the Wolfpack without dropping a single game. Jovana Kuljanin won 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, Alana Andrews 6-0, 6-0, 6-0 and Faith Pearson 6-0, 6-0, 6-0.

12107715_779181358859403_3320401044834167016_nGreat Oak in turn was victorious in doubles, sweeping Murrieta Valley. The Wolfpack’s  Kendall Leander and Chandini Madan won  7-6 (7-3), 6-0, 6-2 and Shawn Barraocliff and Raechal Walker 6-2, 6-2, 6-3.
Murrieta Valley’s overall record is now 12 wins 2 losses. They are 4-1 in league. Great Oak is 8-5 overall and 2-3 in Southwestern play.

Temecula Valley beat Vista Murrieta 10-8 and tightened it’s grip on the Southwestern league lead with a 5-0 record. Vista Murrieta is 3-2 in league play.

Murrieta Mesa defeated Chaparral 11-7 to win their first Southwestern League game.
