On
Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at 8:25 am, deputies from the Lake
Elsinore Station responded to the area of Riverside Drive and Stadium
Way (Lakeside High), in the city of Lake Elsinore, regarding a
vehicle vs pedestrian hit and run traffic collision.
Deputies
arrived within a minute and contacted the juvenile victim (16 yrs)
and witnesses. Preliminary investigation revealed the juvenile was
walking north bound on Riverside Drive, within the crosswalk, at the
intersection of Stadium Way.
The
driver of a black Nissan Sentra was making a left turn onto Riverside
Drive from Stadium Way and struck the juvenile pedestrian in the
crosswalk. The investigative process, to include interviewing
witnesses, the victim and gathering video footage from various
sources; led to the identity of the alleged driver, a 16 year old
male juvenile.
This
investigation will be forwarded to the Riverside County Juvenile
Probation Office for criminal charges to filed against the juvenile
