Murrieta: Motorcyclist Loses Control in Fatal Traffic Accident near the Intersection of Jefferson Avenue & Cherry Street

Wednesday, September 25th, 2019, at about 7:16 am, the Murrieta
Police Department Dispatch Center received a call of a traffic
collision involving a motorcyclist on Cherry Street and Jefferson
Avenue.
Murrieta
Police and Murrieta Fire & Rescue personnel arrived and found a
32-year-old male motorcyclist that had sustained serious injuries as
a result of the collision. The male was pronounced deceased at the
scene by paramedics.
The
Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office is assisting with the
investigation and the male’s identity is being withheld pending
notification of next of kin by Sheriff-Coroner’s personnel.
The
preliminary investigation revealed the motorcyclist was traveling
west on the French Valley Parkway off-ramp which turns into Cherry
Street at Jefferson Avenue.
The motorcyclist lost control of the
motorcycle near the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Cherry
Street, and a solo vehicle collision occurred just west of the
intersection. No one else was injured as a result of the collision
and the cause of the collision is still under investigation.
