On
Monday, September 23, 2019, at approximately 2:02 a.m., Riverside
Police Officers responded to the 3300 block of Russell Street for
reports of gunfire heard in the area.
When
they arrived, officers located a Hispanic adult male in his 40’s
seated in a SUV suffering from gunshot wounds.
Paramedics
with the Riverside Fire Department immediately arrived but the victim
was pronounced deceased at the scene. There was broken glass on the
street next to the parked vehicle. Detectives were trying to
determine from which direction the shots came, Railsback said.
Detectives
with the Robbery – Homicide Unit, along with Specialists from the
Forensics Unit, responded and assumed the investigation. They are
being assisted by the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office.
The identity of the victim is pending the Coroner’s investigation
and notification of family members.
This
investigation is still ongoing and there are no further details to
