Bronco starting pitcher Jack Moberg threw a two hit shutout for five innings, hit a home run and drove in two to lead Vista Murrieta 10-3 over the Nighthawks Friday.
The victory created a tie for first place in the Southwestern League between the two teams with seven games left to play in the 2015 season.

The Broncos scored three runs in the first, second and third innings to jump out to a huge 9-0 lead. Vista Murrieta would score two more in fifth as Moberg picked up the win. Connor Cannon and Joey Hodapp each pitched an inning of scoreless relief as the Bronco trio shut out Murrieta Valley.
Freshman Jake Moberg, Jack’s younger brother, had three hits, scored two runs and drove in three. Luis Silva went 2-for-3 and scored twice. Angel Ortiz drove in two and scored three times for the Broncos. Mitch Morales and Hunter Tidwell had the other two RBIs.
The Nighthawk’s Johnny Morell gave up eight runs in two innings and picked up the loss. Reliever Brett Lockwood slso got shelled for three runs in two innings. Kase Gebbie was the other pitcher that Coach Monte Jones would use against Vista Murrieta.
The Broncos will be home to face Murrieta Mesa next. Murrieta Valley will also be home to play Chaparral. Come out and catch some outstanding baseball as things heat up in the powerful Southwestern League, ranked as the toughest High School Baseball league in the Nation by MaxPreps.
