Lake Elsinore: Temecula Couple Arrested after 2 Kids, Ages 1 & 2 Left Alone for Hours in Motel





On Tuesday, October 8, 2019, deputies responded to a motel, in 31700 block of Casino Drive, Lake Elsinore regarding a one-year old child walking alone in the parking lot wearing only a diaper.


Deputies arrived and located the child in the parking lot. Deputies also discovered an open door and found an additional child, two-years old alone in the motel room. Deputies attempted to locate the parents.

Thirty minutes later the father of the children, Joseph Salas , 50 years old resident of Temecula, arrived. Salas and the children were transported to the station.

The mother, Tamara Ross , 32-year-old resident of Temecula, arrived at the station a short time later. The investigation revealed both parents left the children alone for over three hours. In addition, Joseph Salas was under the influence of marijuana and Tamara Ross drove to the station while under the influence of alcohol.



Joseph Salas was arrested for Felony child endangerment and being under the influence of marijuana in public and Tamara Ross was arrested for felony child endangerment and driving under the influence of alcohol. Child Protective Services responded to take custody of the children. Both suspects were transported to Cois Byrd Detention Center.
